TS Scheme: Financial Assistance for Landless Farmers
The Telangana government has decided to provide ₹12,000 financial aid to landless farmers in the state. As part of this initiative, the first installment of ₹6,000 is expected to be disbursed next month, likely around Sankranti.
According to the Dharani Committee report submitted to the government, there are approximately 25 lakh families in Telangana without any land ownership. The report highlights that around 70% of these families belong to Dalit communities. In line with its earlier announcement, the government plans to provide this ₹12,000 assistance, starting with the ₹6,000 payout in the first phase.
Eligibility Criteria and Selection Process
- Eligibility: Beneficiaries will be selected based on details from employment guarantee (MGNREGA) cards and the caste census survey.
- Implementation: The government is also planning to introduce the VRO (Village Revenue Officer) system in Telangana to ensure better execution of welfare schemes.
